Who Am I?

My name is Michael Skinner and I have been working with SQL Server for the last 16 years, 12 as a DBA.   I am a husband and father to two awesome boys, and I have been really lucky to have a ton of great people in my career to learn from and to grow and become a member of the SQL Community because of their willingness to help me in that way.   I have been on the team to help put together SQL Saturday in Kansas City since the 2014 iteration and have worked on the PASS Program Committee in the 2014 and 2015 Summit years as part of the Abstract review team.  I enjoy talking about SQL Server and helping people with SQL Server in any way that I can, and I am hopeful that this blog can grow into something that might actually help some of those out there the way so many others have helped me in the past.

  1. Mike, I’m so sorry to hear that you are in the hospital. KU has a great staff and reputation of doing great things. I am confident you are in the best hands Kansas City has to offer. My mother-in-law had surgery there that for a procedure no other hospital would touch. I had a dream last night, that you had a brain tumor, but you were able to write SQL to UPDATE the bad cells with good cells and so you beat it on your own. My prayers are with you and your family. Hang in there. -Andrea
